SOL PLAATJE University (SPU) is gearing up for its 3rd Annual Community Big Walk, set to take place on 15 March 2025 at Suzuki Stadium. This year, the event promises more than just a scenic walk - it's a full-fledged celebration of community, fitness, and local entrepreneurship with the addition of a lifestyle market.

Signature event

The Community Big Walk has become a signature event in the SPU calendar, bringing together students, staff, and the wider community for a day of health and togetherness. The walk officially begins at 8am, but participants are encouraged to arrive early, with check-ins starting at 7am.

All entrants must collect their race numbers beforehand at the SPU South Campus Sport Precinct (150 Reservoir Road) on 14 March 2025, between 10am and 4pm.

Introducing the Lifestyle Market

This year’s event will also showcase a vibrant lifestyle market, offering local businesses, student entrepreneurs, and vendors a platform to display and sell their products. Attendees can browse handcrafted goods, enjoy delicious food, and experience the creative talents of the community.

Entertainment, prizes & limited-edition t-shirts

Adding to the excitement, the event will feature lucky draws with fantastic prizes up for grabs, along with loads of entertainment for the whole family to enjoy.

For those who want to take home a memento, official Community Big Walk T-shirts will be available for purchase at R180 each. Stocks are limited, so attendees are encouraged to buy early.
