THE ANC in the Northern Cape has urged its voters to keep the party in power in the upcoming by-elections in the Namakhoi and Karoo Hoogland municipalities after two ANC councillors walked over to the PA.

ANC provincial secretary Deshi Ngxanga accused the councillors of “betraying their communities” and condemned their actions as “disgraceful”.

“These individuals were elected under the ANC banner, entrusted by the people to uphold the values and vision of our movement. Their defection is not just political opportunism - it is a direct betrayal of the very communities that placed their faith in them. However, history has proven that the ANC is bigger than individuals. Our people do not vote for opportunists, they vote for the movement that has consistently fought for a better life for all.
