THE SAINTS Hockey Club is preparing to host the Josman Visagie Memorial Hockey Tournament, a heartfelt tribute to their late chairman, Josman Visagie, who was a cornerstone of the Kimberley hockey community. This special event is scheduled to take place from March 21 to 23 at the Casandra Astro Turf.

Known for his exceptional goalkeeping skills and unwavering dedication as the Astro Turf manager, Visagie was a beloved figure who epitomised passion and selflessness. His daily commitment to opening the facility, ensuring the safety of young players, and even personally taking children home after practice left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered.

“Josman embodied the spirit of hockey in Kimberley. His selflessness, dedication and love for the sport touched countless lives. Hosting this tournament is our way of celebrating his legacy and the immense contributions he made to the community,” said Jayesh Kanjee, chairman of Saints Hockey Club.

Saints Hockey Club promises a vibrant atmosphere with food stalls, children’s entertainment, and activities for adults. Vendors interested in setting up stalls can secure their spots by e-mailing the club at [email protected].

Team registrations are now open via a link shared on the club’s social media platforms. Vendors and individual players eager to join this historic event are encouraged to reach out directly through the club’s e-mail.

The Josman Visagie Memorial Hockey Tournament is more than just a competition; it is a celebration of a man whose life was devoted to fostering a love for hockey in Kimberley.
