The Kaizer Chiefs coaching duo of Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef find themselves under pressure after a recent bad run of form.

The two were promoted to co-coaches following the sacking of Nasreddine Nabi and have done relatively well during their time in charge. However, their recent run of form – three draws and a loss in their last four games – has seen former club legends and impatient fans baying for blood.

This is despite the club finding themselves in a very good fourth place in the Betway Premiership, four points behind leaders Orlando Pirates, and just two behind the reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

In all of the speculation about the Chiefs job, one name that refuses to go away is that of former Bafana Bafana and Sundowns boss Pitso Mosimane, who has been without a job since the beginning of the year.

It's been mentioned that the club would need to move heaven and earth to secure Mosimane’s services.

So, what would Jingles bring to Amakhosi?

First of all, he would change how the club’s players see themselves. One of his greatest impacts has always been having a positive impact on a team’s culture. At Chiefs, he would reintroduce a ruthless winning mentality that has been missing for years, replacing comfort and nostalgia with accountability and elite standards.

On the pitch, it’s all about structure and control. Chiefs would become harder to beat, compact without the ball, and far more disciplined in transitions. Every player would know exactly why they are on the pitch – and what happens if they don’t deliver.

On the training pitch, Mosimane would demand physical readiness and mental resilience, and players who cannot cope would be exposed quickly. And big names would not be protected. Under Mosimane, if you don’t perform in training, you might as well look for a new club. Younger players who are eager to impress, would benefit.

Recruitment would also see a massive change under the former Bafana coach, and would become purposeful rather than reactive, aligned to a clear playing philosophy. Chiefs wouldn’t just aim to compete – they’d aim to dominate again.

In short, Pitso Mosimane wouldn’t merely fix Kaizer Chiefs. He would force them to grow up, rediscover their identity, and remember what winning actually requires.

Ultimately, the question for Kaizer Chiefs is not whether Mosimane is good enough for the job, but whether the club itself is ready for what he represents. Appointing Jingles would mean accepting discomfort, hard decisions and short-term pain in pursuit of long-term success.

It would also demand patience from supporters and honesty from the dressing room. If Chiefs truly want to return to the summit of South African football, Mosimane offers a clear, proven roadmap – but only if everyone at Naturena is prepared to walk it with him.
