Thulani Loyiso Oliphant, affectionately known as "Thulz", has a unique and selfless pre-game ritual. Before matches, he prepares mentally by embracing the mindset that he is the player who can make the difference his team needs, approaching each game with focus, confidence, and determination.

Thulz discovered his passion for cricket in primary school after being inspired by watching the sport on television. That early fascination quickly turned into dedication, setting him on a path to becoming a reliable and hard-working cricketer.

His proudest cricketing moments include years of representing provincial schools and finishing as the runner-up in the best bowler rankings in the 2023/24 T20 league; achievements that reflect both his skill and commitment to the game. Looking ahead, he dreams of playing at iconic grounds such as Newlands Cricket Ground in South Africa and the world-renowned Lord’s Cricket Ground in England.

The dedicated cricketer wants the Kimberley crowd to remember his name, confident that they will see “Thulz” in big lights one day.

Describing himself as reliable, hard-working, and committed, Thulani has used his time at Sol Plaatje University to grow both as an athlete and as a person. He reflects on his journey as one filled with growth, self-discovery, and more ups than downs. He constantly finds opportunities to learn from challenges and build strong bonds with teammates.

Thulani’s story is one of perseverance, dedication, and the relentless pursuit of excellence, showing that passion combined with commitment can pave the way to success both on and off the cricket field.
