THE ANNUAL Under-15 Norman Community Cup is set to take place on Saturday, November 15, in St John's Street in the Colville and Floors area, bringing together young footballers, local teams, and the wider community for a day of sport, talent, and inspiration.
The tournament, now a well-established fixture in Kimberley’s youth sports calendar, is designed to give back to the community, unearth raw talent, and help combat crime and substance abuse by providing positive opportunities for young people.
This year, eight teams will compete in a Top 8 knockout format. These teams are: Kimberley Bucks Development, Motherwells, Kimberley City, Forever United, Norman Football Club, Tswarangano All Stars, Jokers FC, and Academy of Sparks.
Ahead of the competition final, spectators will also be treated to a special match featuring the Kimberley Legends against a Coaches XI, promising an exciting warm-up for the main event.
The team manager of Norman Football Club highlighted the importance of the tournament saying that it was shaped to benefit the youth.
“This tournament is about more than football. It is about giving our young people a place to belong, a chance to shine, and a safe space away from the challenges they face daily. We hope this event will continue to inspire our youth and bring the community together.”
Prizes for the tournament include a trophy and 18 gold medals for the winners, 18 silver medals for the runners-up, and individual awards for Goalkeeper of the Tournament, Player of the Tournament, and Top Goalscorer.
Organisers and participants alike are looking forward to a day of thrilling football and community celebration, as the Under-15 Norman Community Cup continues to provide a platform for young talent to grow both on and off the pitch.
