Kappa United, was established in 2001 in Pescodia by dedicated coach Clifford Esel. The club underwent its rebranding in 2023 – from Kappa United to Shooting Stars – to reflect their mission of elevating young talent in the community to new heights. And on Friday, November 7 2025, the club will host an awards evening.

The Shooting Stars Football Club will celebrate the achievements of its players and members at its annual awards ceremony on Friday, November 7. The event will take place at the Roman Catholic Hall in Pescodia from 5pm to 9pm and promises an evening of inspiration, recognition, and celebration.
Esteemed guest speakers are expected to address attendees, including Premier Dr. Zamani Saul, Sol Plaatje Masters Football League Chairperson Seabata Makhele, and Pastor Malebo. The presence of these esteemed guests highlights the importance of community engagement and the role of sports in nurturing talent and teamwork.
The ceremony will recognise outstanding performances on and off the field, honouring players, coaches, and volunteers who have contributed to the club’s success over the past year.
