The small town with a big heart, Barkly West – just a short drive north west of Kimberley – is going to be buzzing with excitement on Saturday, November 1, when the Second Annual Bovua Community Cup tournament kicks off at the Mataleng Stadium at 8am.
The good news about this community sports event is that entrance to the venue is free, and on top of that, there’s plenty of thrills and entertainment awaiting visitors to the stadium. This includes live music and food stalls for spectators, and cash prizes, T-shirts, goodie bags and trophies for winning teams.
The Bovua Community Cup features the best of the Dikgatlong District’s Under15 soccer and netball talents showcasing their skill and passion. Standing behind the tournaments is the belief that sports teach discipline, teamwork, and respect — keeping our country’s youth off the streets and focused on their goals.
