Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Bongani Zungu has reignited his feud with Kaizer Chiefs legend Bernard Parker.
In a Smash Sports video on YouTube last week, Parker went into detail about the tackle from Zungu during a Sundowns clash against TS Galaxy two seasons ago that nearly ended his career.
In the October 2023 match, Sundowns’ Bongani Zungu went in for a tackle on Parker, and moments later the former Bafana Bafana attacker was writhing in agony on the ground with a broken leg.
After the injury, Parker only returned to football towards the end of the season, and the feud continued when Zungu was injured against TS Galaxy in what many called an act of revenge.
Speaking about his injury, Parker said: “When I lifted my leg, it was doing this [indicating it was limp]. While my leg was doing that, the person [Zungu] was performing and yappering and yappering over me, looking at how my leg was swinging from side to side.”
Parker then claimed he woke up in hospital and received a message from Zungu on Instagram asking for forgiveness.
“I said, ‘Sharp, I forgive you.’ He did not even give a thumbs up or a heart or anything, or wish me well for my recovery… nothing. He read it and just left it. I still have the screenshot of that message,” he said, later adding he was blocked by the then Sundowns star.

In an Instagram story earlier this week, Zungu, who now plays for AmaZulu, claimed the Kaizer Chiefs icon was lying.
“Mxm, your legends and lies,” Zungu captioned a screenshot of his conversation with Parker.
