The Kimberley Sporting Legends Trust is gearing up for a special celebration that will honour the province’s rich cricketing history and the players who helped shape it.

The Kimberley Sporting Legends Reunion Weekend promises a memorable few days of nostalgia, camaraderie, and recognition, culminating in a Gala Dinner at Elizabeth Conradie High School.

The evening will feature keynote speakers, an awards ceremony, and live entertainment, all dedicated to celebrating the sporting greats who left their mark on the region.

“We invite all legends, friends, and supporters to join us for this special occasion on 1 November 2025,” said the Kimberley Legends Trust Committee. “We are grateful for those who have already RSVP’d and kindly ask that others confirm attendance by 20 October 2025, to assist with planning.”

Chairperson Mr Godfrey Erlank expressed pride in the committee’s efforts to bring the weekend to life. “It is a huge honour for the committee, who have worked tirelessly over the past few months. This event is about recognising the extraordinary contributions of individuals who built the game of cricket in this province,” he said.

This year’s focus will shine on two significant teams: the South African Coloured team of 1967, and the Griqualand West side that made history by winning the Booley Cup in East London in 1988, the only team from the province ever to do so.

The Trust has also called on the community and local businesses to get involved through sponsorships and donations, helping to ensure the event’s success and sustain future initiatives that preserve Kimberley’s sporting heritage.
