Boitumelo Seikaneng was born in Kuruman and discovered her love for cricket while playing with friends at school. These were indeed humble beginnings, but it kindled a spark, which grew to a flame, and then an inferno.

A school game became a passion, and this passion soon led Boitumelo to join the KEW Cricket Club, where her talent quickly stood out. It became obvious that she had that ‘something’ that sets one apart from the rest.

That ‘something’ led to her achieving one of her proudest moments – being selected to represent her province – a milestone that continues to drive her ambition.

Unlike other young players who are enthralled with international stadiums around the world, Boitumelo dreams of playing at Mzansi’s own iconic Wanderers Cricket Stadium in Johannesburg, where many of her cricket heroes have made history.

Known for her fearless, competitive, and energetic spirit, she prepares for every match by visualising success, focusing on her strengths, and reminding herself to enjoy the game – without enjoyment, what would be the purpose of playing the game after all?

As one can imagine, balancing academics and cricket has been challenging, but Boitumelo says the journey has been incredibly rewarding and proof that hard work truly pays off.
