It has been 94 days since Temba Bavuma proudly lifted the ICC World Test Championship Mace at the hallowed Lord’s Cricket Ground, marking a historic moment for South African cricket.

That sense of triumph is far from fading, as the Proteas Men continue to ride the wave of their success, bringing it straight to the hearts of cricket fans nationwide.

Captain Temba Bavuma and Coach Shukri Conrad have made it clear that sharing this historic victory with South Africans remains a top priority, even if the team’s busy international schedule delayed immediate celebrations. “Celebrating this achievement with our fans is incredibly important to us. This tour is about giving back to the people who have supported us through every match,” said Bavuma.

Starting on Tuesday, September 23, the Proteas Men will embark on an exciting nationwide Mace Tour, taking the coveted trophy to cities across the country and inviting fans to connect with their champions. The tour will kick off in Kimberley and Bloemfontein before moving on to Durban, Gqeberha, and East London, and concluding in Cape Town over a four-day period.

The schedule is packed with opportunities for fans to meet the team, enjoy photo sessions, and even catch a glimpse of the players during city bus parades.

Tour schedule with plenty of stop-offs

In Kimberley, the action begins at the Diamond Oval, followed by a school visit at Tshoseletso High School in Bloemfontein. Durban’s fans will get to experience a city bus parade from Umhlanga to HWB Kingsmead Stadium, paired with the famous SAB Braai Day. In Gqeberha and East London, the team will engage with students during school assemblies, host panel discussions, and give fans in the city centres a chance to meet the players up close. The tour wraps up in Cape Town with a fan meet-and-greet at the Grand Parade and an open bus parade through the CBD.

Cricket South Africa and the Proteas Men have invited everyone to join this celebration, and share in the joy of the World Test Championship victory, while capturing memories with the national heroes.
