Kimberley boxing tournament brings best young fighters together from far and wide

Kimberley will play host to an action-packed boxing tournament on Saturday, September 20, when New Champions Boxing Academy and Platinum Boxing and Fitness Club bring some of the region’s finest talent together.

The event will take place at Eden Pub and Grill, located at 112 Landbou Road, South Ridge, with bouts scheduled to begin by midday.

Several top clubs have confirmed their participation in an impressive line-up. These include the hosts New Champions Boxing Academy and Platinum Boxing Club, along with Bokamoso Boxing Club, and Tsantsabane Boxing Club from Postmasburg, Rusty Gloves Boxing Club, Home Defenders Boxing Club, and Smithy’s Boxing Club from Welkom, Bert Collins Boxing Club from Brits in Gauteng; and Just Do It Boxing Club.

From the host gyms, fans can expect to see exciting performances from promising young fighters. New Champions Boxing Academy will showcase Rorisang Poloholo, a two-time district and provincial champion, alongside Landon Marais, Bradley Britz, and Mbako Nkokou.

Platinum Boxing Gym will field a strong line-up featuring district and provincial champions Keenan Jafta and Xolani Mongale, with Mongale also the 2024 SAANABO Champion. They will be joined by Brayden Dickenson, Fabian April, Ramon Reyneke, Rajazzwin Reyneke, Morgan Williams, Ghamza Cader, and Thabiso Monyane.

Organisers say the purpose of the tournament is to give young boxers the opportunity to gain valuable experience and showcase their skills. “With the bouts pre-matched, we believe this tournament will help ensure that athletes receive the exposure they need to grow and develop to their full potential,” the organisers noted.

With such a wide range of clubs and rising talent stepping into the ring, Kimberley boxing fans are in for a thrilling afternoon of competition.
