The countdown to one of Cape Town’s biggest annual sporting spectacles has begun, with tickets for the HSBC SVNS Cape Town going on sale this Friday at 09h00 via Ticketmaster.co.za. Fans can expect high-octane rugby, a festival of entertainment, and even free drinks for the first to secure their spots.
The world champion Blitzboks will return to defend their HSBC SVNS Cape Town title on the weekend of 6-7 December, as the tournament promises two unforgettable days of sevens rugby in the Mother City.
To add extra excitement, the first 500 fans to buy R350 tickets in the Party Stand will receive a free drink voucher. Known for its festive atmosphere and fancy dress tradition, the Party Stand is one of the most popular areas in the stadium. Families have also been catered for, with a special package offering four tickets for only R750, with reserved seating in blocks 105 to 112.
Ticket prices have been competitively set, starting at R250 for unreserved seating, while the best seats in the house cost R600. Categories include:
SA Rugby CEO Rian Oberholzer welcomed the tournament’s return, noting both the rugby quality and the lifestyle experience it delivers. “With the new tournament model, we envisage high-octane rugby from all the teams from the get-go, with no place to hide, as only the top two teams in the respective pools will progress to the semi-finals,” he said.
“It’ll be two action-packed days, but we know this event is about more than the rugby. Fans will also experience the vibrant live entertainment and the unique festival atmosphere that makes the HSBC SVNS in Cape Town one of the best live events in the country. From edge-of-your-seat matches to music, food, and culture, it’s a celebration.”
The Blitzboks lifted the Cape Town title last year and went on to be crowned HSBC SVNS World Champions in Los Angeles in May. This time around, they will be joined by seven other men’s and eight women’s teams, all battling it out in a new series format where consistency is key.
Fans are reminded to purchase tickets only through the official platform, Ticketmaster.co.za, and to avoid resellers such as Viagogo, which often charge inflated prices without guaranteeing valid tickets.
The HSBC SVNS Cape Town forms part of a global series that includes tournaments in Dubai, Singapore, Australia, Vancouver, and the USA, culminating in the World Championship in Hong Kong, Valladolid, and Bordeaux in 2026.
With tickets starting at just R250 and early bird incentives like free beer, Cape Town is gearing up once again for a summer of rugby, entertainment, and unforgettable memories.
