The second leg of the MTN8 semi-final between Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates has officially sold out, highlighting the immense excitement and fierce rivalry surrounding this blockbuster encounter.

Football fans have eagerly snapped up tickets for the highly anticipated clash, set to take place this Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 3 pm at Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville, Pretoria.

The rapid sell-out of the 28,900-capacity stadium underscores the massive fan bases of both clubs, with Sundowns' "yellow army" and Pirates' "Ghost" expected to fill the stands in a sea of colour and chants.

Tickets, priced at R100, vanished within hours of going on sale last week via Open Tickets and Computicket, mirroring the first leg's quick disappearance of 36,000 tickets for Orlando Stadium.

Social media has been buzzing with anticipation, with posts like “Sold out! This is going to be epic ☠️👆” capturing the fervour.

This high demand is fueled by the teams' star power and rich history, as Sundowns chase a record 16th cup title, while Pirates aim to defend their MTN8 crown.

The quick sell-out also significantly boosts the MTN8's profile and generates crucial revenue for South African football, providing a platform for fans to see stars like Ronwen Williams and Patrick Maswanganyi in action.

The winner of this hotly contested semi-final will face either Cape Town City or Stellenbosch in the final on October 5 at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
