The Kimberley Harriers Road Running Club has kept the momentum going with two solid weeks of time trials, proving that regular activity – even just once a week – can make a big difference to fitness and health.
In fact, a recent report by the BBC states that one study of over 37,000 people found those who did their week's worth of physical activity over just one of two days had the same reduction in cardiovascular disease risk as those who did activity spread throughout the week.
So, for a lazy person who wants to improve their cardiovascular health, the message is simple: even a small amount of any type of exercise can make a big difference.
And that’s what the Harriers excel at, week in and week out, runners and walkers of all paces take part in the club’s activities, covering distances from 4km to 9km, with each session adding to the group’s rhythm and camaraderie.
The message is clear: whether chasing a personal best or simply showing up, every step counts – and the road will be waiting again next Tuesday.
