Kaizer Chiefs have added more steel to their midfield with the signing of Siphesihle Ndlovu, as the club continues its aggressive rebuild ahead of a demanding 2025/26 campaign.
Ndlovu, 28, joins Amakhosi following a spell at SuperSport United and brings with him valuable top-flight experience, having previously turned out for Maritzburg United and Orlando Pirates.
The midfielder will now compete for a starting place in a packed engine room that already includes Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Thabo Cele, Yusuf Maart and Samkelo Zwane.
The Soweto giants are one of the most active clubs in the current transfer window.
Ndlovu becomes the sixth new arrival at Naturena, following the signings of defenders Thabiso Monyane, Paseka Mako and Nkanyiso Shinga, midfielder Ethan Chislett and Portuguese striker Flavio Silva.
It’s a clear statement of intent from a club determined to build on their Nedbank Cup triumph — a win that ended a painful decade-long trophy drought.
While Chiefs finished outside the top eight in the Betway Premiership last season, management has kept faith in head coach Nasreddine Nabi, who has been tasked with restoring consistency and pushing the club back into title contention.
The upcoming season brings added pressure and opportunity, particularly with Chiefs set to compete in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Having qualified through their Nedbank Cup win, Amakhosi will need squad depth to handle the demands of domestic and continental football — especially with the additional travel and fixture congestion that comes with it.
Ndlovu is expected to link up with his new teammates in the Netherlands, where Chiefs are currently based for their pre-season tour.
Amakhosi have lined up several friendlies against Dutch opposition including SBV Vitesse Arnhem, FC Utrecht, NEC Nijmegen, PEC Zwolle and FC Twente — matches that will give Nabi an early chance to assess his new-look squad.
With new faces bedding in and more additions expected, Kaizer Chiefs look far from done. But with experienced players like Ndlovu now in the mix, the foundation for a stronger, more competitive side is beginning to take shape.
