Konoha Martial Arts academies from Kathu and Kuruman delivered a powerful statement on the national stage this past weekend, collecting an impressive 35 medals at the Martial Arts South Africa’s National Championship and Festival held in Pretoria.
Representing the Northern Cape with pride and precision, the Konoha team earned 14 gold, nine silver, and 12 bronze medals – making up the bulk of the province’s total medal count of 51.
Under the expert guidance of Soke Sensei Rainer and Sensei Janko, the athletes showcased extraordinary discipline, determination, and skill, reaffirming their reputation as one of the province’s top martial arts schools.
The team’s success is not only a testament to their rigorous training but also to the unwavering support of their coaches and families. The academy’s culture of excellence was on full display as students of various age groups competed and excelled in multiple categories.
Parents and supporters joined in celebrating the outstanding achievement, which highlights the growing strength of martial arts in the Northern Cape.
