The Safa Frances Baard Hollywoodbets Regional League positional play-offs kick off this weekend with six tantalising football matches scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 31 2025 at the Ikhutseng Stadium in Warrenton.

The action continues on Sunday, June 1 at the same venue with three games, featuring the League’s top teams from the three streams, scheduled for the day.

In Sunday’s first game, kicking off at 9.30am, Dikgatlong’s Stream B top team Kgatelopele take on Steam A, Sol Plaatje’s Sol Plaatje University in what promises to be a cracker of a match.

The winner of this match will face Magareng/Phokwane’s Stream C’s winner in the late game at 3pm. However, before this match, the loser of the opening game will have to face Skema Unite in a 12 noon clash.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, the action will come thick and fast as six teams do battle from early morning.

In the first encounter, Real Stars, who ended third in Stream C take on Seragamajwe, Stream B’s third-placed team. This will be followed up at 11am by the clash between Stream B runners-up FC Barcelona who take on Stream C’s second-placed Pampierstad Express.

At 1pm, Pescodia Soccer Graduates, who placed third in Stream A will test their strength against the loser of game one, that is either Real Stars or Seragamajwe.

The loser of game two will meet Dalton Brothers in the day’s fourth game kicking off at 3pm.

To ensure that everyone is tested, and that no team gets an unfair advantage, the last two games of the day will see the winner of the opening game face Pescodia Soccer Graduates at 5pm, and the victors of game two clashing with Dalton Brothers.

Saturday’s matches are about positional play-offs from positions three to eight across the streams.

Sunday’s games will decide position one and two overall.

The team that ends top on Sunday also gets an opportunity to contest with the other four Regions in the Province to battle it out for promotion to the ABC Motsepe Provincial League.

There’s also a cash incentive, with the total prize money for the Hollywoodbets league around R66,000 of which the first prize is a mouthwatering R16,000.

The good news is that positions two to eight qualify for prizes as well.

Team supporters and football fans are invited to get to the stadium in their numbers to enjoy and add to the festive atmosphere of the play-offs.

The earlier fans get into the grounds, the louder the support from the opening whistle.

Please note, that there will be a gate fee of a very reasonable R20 for adults and R10 for children. The other good news is that there will be entrance for cars for a modest R20. It’s obvious, the earlier you arrive, the more value for money you will enjoy.
