As the semi-finals unfold this weekend, there’s more than just a spot in the SA Cup final up for grabs — the results will also determine who earns the right to host the title match.

If the Pumas win their semi-final against Boland, they’ll host the final in Mbombela regardless of who comes through the Kimberley clash between Griquas and the Cheetahs. Their unbeaten record and log-topping finish mean they hold the top seed.

However, if Boland pull off an upset and Griquas win at home, then the 2025 SA Cup final will be hosted in Kimberley.

Should the Kavaliers beat the Pumas and the Cheetahs take down Griquas, then the final will head to Bloemfontein – home of the Cheetahs, who finished the round-robin stage in third place.

So as we can see, everything is on the line.
