Springbok supporters, mark your calendars – the wait is nearly over. SA Rugby has officially announced that tickets for the highly anticipated 2025 Springbok home Test matches will go on sale on Friday, May 16, exclusively through Ticketmaster.
After a 10-month absence from South African soil, the back-to-back Rugby World Cup champions will make their triumphant return with a thrilling Castle Lager Incoming Series in July, featuring clashes against Italy and Georgia. The action kicks off at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on July 5, followed by a second encounter with the Italians on July 12 at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha. The Boks then face Georgia in Mbombela on July 19, marking their first home Test matches since the commanding 48-7 victory over Argentina in September 2024.
Rian Oberholzer, CEO of SA Rugby, expressed excitement about the return of the national team to local fields.
“This is more than just the start of the season – it’s a chance for South Africans to once again unite behind a team that brings pride to the nation in a critical year for World Cup preparation,” Oberholzer said. “We had an amazing 2024, and we’re looking forward to seeing South Africans fill stadiums with passionate supporters, enjoying the experience as a memorable kick-off to a year filled with big challenges and even bigger opportunities.”
The July series is expected to serve as a vital warm-up ahead of a blockbuster international season, which will also see the Springboks face rugby giants New Zealand, France, and Ireland later in the year. Furthermore, 2025 marks a crucial step in the team’s quest to defend their No.1 world ranking, which will play a key role in securing a favourable draw for the 2027 Rugby World Cup.
Fans can expect further announcements soon regarding a special fixture against the world-famous Barbarians, which will add even more international flavour to a jam-packed home season.
With the Springboks’ incredible run in 2024 resulting in a 100% sellout rate for all home Tests, SA Rugby is warning fans to act fast when tickets open on May 16, as demand is projected to be sky-high.
Tickets for the Springboks’ Rugby Championship home fixtures will become available a month later, on Friday, June 13, ensuring fans have ample time to plan their attendance for what promises to be a landmark year in South African rugby.
