The Blade Shotokan Karate Club proudly represented their dojo at the prestigious WUKF South Africa National Championship and Afro-Asia Open, with 13 talented karate-kas stepping onto the mats to compete against some of the best in the country.

The Blade Shotokan Karate Club’s flag flew high recently, at the prestigious WUKF (World Union of Karate-Do Federations) South Africa National Championship and Afro-Asia Open.
At the competition, 13 of the club’s dedicated karate-kas stepped up to compete against some of the finest talent from around the country.
The dojo’s young athletes made their presence felt, bringing home three well-deserved medals in the face of fierce competition.
Ayama Mngxaso stood out with a sharp, confident kata performance that earned a silver medal, while Oratile Modise impressed with focus and precision to take bronze in the same discipline.
In kumite, G’zinn Saul fought with grit and tenacity, securing another bronze and proving the club’s mettle on the national stage.
Beyond the podium, several of the club’s members advanced to the semi-final rounds, showcasing skill, composure, and the promise of even greater success in future tournaments. Though they may not have medalled, each competitor walked away with invaluable experience and a deepened passion for the sport.
The club is incredibly proud of every athlete who represented them with heart and honour and remains committed to fostering excellence as these karate-kas continue to grow and shine.
