RUGBY enthusiasts in Kimberley are in for a treat this Easter weekend as the highly anticipated Easter Sevens Rugby Tournament kicks off on Friday, April 18, and continues through Saturday, April 19, at the Kimberley Rugby Club grounds.
With a total of 10 teams participating across both school and senior divisions, spectators can expect a festival of fast-paced, hard-hitting rugby action that will have fans on the edge of their seats.
Two local high schools, William Pescod High School and Technical High School, will each field both an Under-16 and Under-19 team, showcasing the future stars of the game.
These youngsters will have the honour of launching the tournament with an exciting derby match when they clash in the opening fixture at 4pm on Friday.
The official opening ceremony will follow shortly thereafter at 4.40pm, setting the stage for a weekend filled with sporting excellence and community spirit.
Saturday shifts focus to the senior division, where six formidable teams will lock horns in what promises to be a day of blistering speed, powerful tackles, and dazzling footwork.
