Driven by a singular mission to bring hope and relief to those in need. Their latest outreach took them to Huis Frieda Kempen, a home for the elderly in Victoria West, where they aimed to make a meaningful impact by providing food and companionship.
Adding an unexpected twist to the journey, a 20-year-old volunteer from Kuruman took on a personal challenge – riding a tandem bike for the first time. This Boere meisie didn’t just ride; she excelled, reaching speeds of 45 to 50 kilometres per hour alongside South African road cycling champion Roberto Gnuei, who guided her throughout the ride.

“My legs are doing fine; it’s just my arms that are getting tired, but we will push on, and I’ll try my best,” she said with determination, embracing the challenge head-on.

The team pressed forward under the relentless sun, pushing through every kilometre with unwavering resolve.
Upon reaching Victoria West, they were met with warm smiles at Huis Frieda Kempen, where they were welcomed with open arms. The volunteers took the time to introduce themselves to each resident, sharing stories, laughter, and moments of joy before offloading a truck filled with food supplies.
The team pushed forward, and there was no stopping them.

Housemother Elsabie expressed heartfelt gratitude, saying, “Thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you are doing. You are making a real difference in people’s lives.”

With their mission in Victoria West complete, the team continued their journey, cycling towards Three Sisters, where they paused for a well-earned lunch together. Their day ended in Beaufort West, where they took a well-deserved rest, preparing themselves for another day of cycling and giving back.
