Zanshin karateka shine at national tournament

Three talented Karateka from the Zanshin Shito-Ryu Karate-Do Academy made the Northern Cape proud this past weekend,when they represented the Karate Association of the Northern Cape at Karate South Africa's League 2 Tournament in Pretoria.

Speaking to the DFA, Shihan Peter Stegmann, head instructor of the academy, expressed his pride in the athletes’ exceptional performances saying, “I am very proud to say that they did very well and achieved fantastic results.

“Congratulations to these young karatekas for their outstanding achievements! They have shown true dedication and skill, bringing home accolades that reflect their hard work and determination,” Stegmann concluded.

The results are as follows:

Aiyaaz Smith (12/13yrs, Boys Development Kumite, Under-45kg) – GOLD

Alwyn Smit (14/15yrs, Boys Elite Kumite, Under-70kg) – SILVER

Mïcke Strydom (14/15yrs, Girls Elite Kumite, Over-61kg) – BRONZE

Mïcke Strydom (14/15yrs, Girls Elite Kata) – GOLD
