The Battle of the Best Amateur Boxing Tournament, held at DuToitSpan Primary School, was a success, attracting top boxing clubs from the Free State and the Northern Cape.
Elimthende Boxing Development Academy from Bethlehem, and Devils and Skhokho Boxing Clubs from Bloemfontein, showcased exceptional performances. Northern Cape participants included Tsantsabane Boxing Club from Postmasburg, and several clubs from Kimberley.
The event was marked by impressive boxing talent and strong community support as spectators cheered enthusiastically, motivating the boxers.
Mosa Ntlangula, director of Kharisma Projects, was impressed with the event saying, “I don’t have enough words to express my gratitude to each and every single individual that had a hand in the success of the tournament! A massive thank you to our sponsors. We appreciate your continuous support in making a difference in our local community!”
Ntlangula also noted the event’s broad impact: “The impact was felt not only in Kimberley but also in Bloemfontein, Bethlehem, and Postmasburg! We stay committed to keeping our promise to revive the sport of boxing, exposing it to those who don’t know the beauty of it, and keeping the youth off the streets and actively involved in the sport.”
Special thanks were extended to Mr. Keeble, principal of DuToitSpan Primary School, for providing the venue and helping introduce boxing to the students.
Ntlangula stressed the importance of integrating boxing into schools: “Boxing needs to be introduced in all schools, and we are well on our way. We would also like to thank the Francis Baard Boxing Organisation for all their contributions.”
The tournament received notable media support, with Ntlangula thanking the DFA for their ongoing contributions to reviving the sport through their articles. The event highlighted the resilience and dedication of the boxing community, promising a bright future for the sport in the region.
