Family, friends, and the skateboarding community came together on Friday night at the Kimberley skate park to celebrate the life of Damian Bramley, a beloved figure in the skateboarding world.

Damian began his skateboarding journey when the Kimberley skate park first opened its doors. From those early days, he quickly grew into one of the best skaters in the country, earning a reputation for his incredible skill and infectious passion.

His dedication to skateboarding made him a role model to many young skaters across South Africa.

Damian’s sister, Natalie, was inspired by his love for skating and joined him at the park, and the two siblings formed a dynamic brother-sister duo. The pair were often seen skating together. Damian’s confidence and ever-present smile made him a cherished member of the skateboarding community.

The night vigil to honour Damian’s memory was opened with a prayer by Pastor Edwin Clark. Friends and family shared heartfelt memories, celebrating the impact Damian had on their lives. Messages were written on balloons and released into the night sky in remembrance of a son, brother, friend, and fellow skater.

Damian Bramley will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the skateboarding community across the country. His spirit will continue to skate alongside them, a testament to his enduring legacy.
