DHS senior netball captain urges team to fight till the end at Wildeklawer

CARMEN Louw, the seasoned leader of Diamantveld High School netball's first-team, is gearing up to take on the challenge of being captain in the upcoming Absa Wildeklawer tournament.

With a wealth of experience, having served as vice-captain on multiple occasions, Louw has stepped into her new role with determination and confidence.

Reflecting on the team’s preparations, Louw emphasised the first team’s dedication and cohesion throughout the year.

“We’ve put in the hard yards,” she told the DFA, highlighting their collective effort and synergy on the court. For Louw, unity is key, especially when facing challenges.

“When the going gets tough," she affirmed, “I’ll remind my team that the game isn't over until the final whistle blows.”

Louw’s optimism extends beyond mere encouragement and motivation for her team; she firmly believes in the squad’s potential to break into the top 10 rankings this year, which would signal an impressive improvement from their performance last season.

As the netball team gears up for the Absa Wildeklawer tournament, Carmen Louw and her teammates are poised to showcase their skills and determination on the national stage, and make all pretenders keenly aware that the Diamantveld team will not just hand points to any opposition they may encounter.

Speaking to the skipper, the DFA was made aware that there is no doubt that DHS netball and their captain will defend their fortress with everything inside them.
