In a groundbreaking move, AVS (Afrikaanse Verbondspan) Griekwas has announced its leap into the digital age for its 2024 trials. Facing the logistical challenges posed by busy schedules and vast distances in the Northern Cape, the rugby powerhouse has opted for an innovative solution: fully digitising its upcoming Bokkie Week trials.

Building upon the success of the digital rugby trials conducted in 2023, AVS Griquas eagerly anticipates providing another avenue for Griqua players to become part of the esteemed Bokkie Week family this year.

Despite the challenges posed by circumstances, schedules, and distances, Griqua players will have a fair platform to exhibit their talents and compete against other top contenders.

Prospective players keen on joining Griquas’ Bokkie Week trials for 2024 are invited to submit their sports CVs via e-mail to bokkieoffice@gmail.com.

The CV should include essential details such as the player’s name, surname, ID number, cellphone number, sport type and positions, years played in Bokkie Week, any other sports achievements, as well as video material showcasing their gameplay if available.

Additionally, applicants are required to provide the location and time of their next six matches. The deadline for submissions is April 10, 2024.

To ensure comprehensive assessment, judges and coaches are set to coordinate attendance at players' matches, aiming to observe as many contenders in action as possible.

In addition to rugby, netball, and hockey trials will also transition to a digital format this year, marking a significant step forward for AVS Griquas in embracing technology’s role in sports.

By leveraging technology’s power and integrating it into the sporting landscape, AVS Griquas aims to empower its players to thrive in a dynamic and evolving world.

Excitement abounds for the future prospects that the digital era holds for AVS Griquas’ players. The body remains steadfast in its belief that this shift will not only positively impact the community but also fortify Griqua traditions while propelling them to new heights.
