EMERGENCY services have been deployed to a violent cash-in-transit heist on the N2 northbound near Chesterville, where criminals blew up the vehicle after robbery.
Authorities are currently managing the scene while looting has been reported in the aftermath. Motorists are advised to avoid the area as the situation develops
Advanced Life Support (ALS) paramedics spokesperson, Garrith Jamieson, said members were currently on the scene attending to the situation as authorities work to secure the area.
Meanwhile, Jamieson said looting was actively underway following the explosion.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area as law enforcement and emergency responders manage the unfolding incident.
