A US YouTuber and content creator, Salah Brooks, shared that she was robbed of over R260 000 of belongings after a car break-in in Cape Town.
Brooks revealed to her 6 million Tik Tok followers and 275 000 Instagram followers that her skydiving equipment was stolen, as well as her bank cards and airpods.
She reckons she fell victim while stopping for coffee.
While walking on the promenade in Mouille Point, she said: “Hi. I am Salah and I just got robbed in Cape Town and these are my immediate notes.
“Don’t leave your car unlocked. Wasn’t sure if it was. They could have used a blocker. Don’t really care.
My friends and I went for a coffee, got back in the car, drove for an hour, opened up the back, bags were gone.
Those bags are completely useless to anyone that is not a skydiver.
“It’s a $10 000 skydiving setup. And it’s gone. And there is nothing I can do about.”
Brooks revealed that she has been in South Africa for a month already and has posted about a klomp videos of her activities here.
She is an adventurer and fitness fanatic, sharing clips of her skydiving and base jumping.
It’s not just parachutes she’s in to. She is also seen diving and surfing.
Brooks added: “They are all replaceable items.”
And she said that she is going nowhere.
My kneejerk reaction isn’t ‘f*** Cape Town, I’m out of here. No, I love it here.
I’ve been here for 30 days and I was just thinking ‘no one makes it here for so long without something happening’.
“I’ll be fine. Stay safe and stay humble.”
