The South African Police Service (SAPS) is offering a R150,000 cash reward for anyone who can lead to the arrest of a suspect wanted after allegedly murdering two police officers on Friday.

A manhunt is currently underway for Jabulani Moyo, a trial-awaiting prisoner, who murdered two police officers while they were being transported from court in Roodepoort.

The officers, a warrant officer, and a sergeant were detectives attached to the Florida SAPS.

“The SAPS is offering a cash reward for anyone who has information on Jabulani Thabang Moyo, who is wanted in connection with the killing of two police officers in Roodepoort on Friday, August 8, 2025. We are putting a R150,000 cash reward for anyone who can lead us to where he is,” police said.

It was also confirmed that Moyo is armed and dangerous.

“This criminal is very dangerous. Do not approach him. He has no regard for life, and we are warning anyone who has information to come forward and not approach this killer,” police said.

Police also added that he has a state firearm in his possession.

A multidisciplinary team consisting of crime intelligence operatives, detectives, as well as the Gauteng DPC tracking teams and the Hawks, are on the ground actively searching for Moyo.

On Sunday, National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola will be visiting the families of the slain police detectives who were murdered.

He will be joined by the Deputy National Commissioner of Policing, Lieutenant General Tebello Mosikili, and the Gauteng Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni.

Anyone who may have information on this case, including the whereabouts of Moyo, is urged to call Warrant Officer Rabosiwana from the Hawks at 072 844 4442.
