AHEAD of the Presidential Inauguration on Wednesday, June 19, the Presidency has emphasised that it will be a regular working day for the public.
President-elect Cyril Ramaphosa's swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Union Buildings in Pretoria, following his re-election by Parliament on June 14.
Individuals planning to attend the event or travelling to Pretoria for other purposes are urged to check road closure details in the Rietondale/Arcadia area on www.gov.za and www.tshwane.gov.za. Additionally, they should stay updated on traffic advisories through radio and television broadcasts.
Chief Justice Raymond Zondo will administer the oath of office to Ramaphosa at the Nelson Mandela Amphitheatre within the Union Buildings.
The ceremony will be witnessed by South African and international guests, including South African royalty, Members of Parliament, representatives of political parties, leaders of organised labour, business and civil society organisations, religious leaders and South Africans who have excelled in various capacities and endeavours.
The ceremony is expected to be attended by a diverse audience, including South African dignitaries, Members of Parliament, political party representatives, labour leaders, business figures, civil society representatives, religious leaders and individuals recognised for their achievements.
Representatives from regional, continental and international organisations such as the Southern African Development Community (SADC), the African Union (AU), and the United Nations will also be present to witness the event.
