MTN has scooped the coveted 2017 Brand Finance Most Valuable Brand with a brand valuation of R40 billion.
MTN received the award last week at an event hosted by Brand South Africa in partnership with Brand Finance and Brand Africa.
The platform is used to recognise the commercial value of South African brands and acknowledge companies that have enhanced their brand value over the past year.
Mapula Bodibe, executive for consumer business at MTN SA said: “We are pleased and humbled to be ranked once again as the most valuable brand in South Africa. This award mirrors market confidence in MTN and is encouraging that our efforts in transforming customer experience and driving business growth are being recognised.
Kingsley Makhubela, chief executive of Brand South Africa, said commercial brands are a key component and driver of a strong nation brand and how this is experienced by both domestic and international audiences. “As such commercial brands are key messengers in positioning the country competitively,” Makhubela said.
