The Springbok Women’s Sevens have been crowned champions of the Rugby Africa Women’s Sevens Tournament after a commanding and undefeated run in Nairobi, culminating in a hard-fought victory over hosts Kenya in the final. In a remarkable display of defensive dominance, South Africa did not concede a single point throughout the entire tournament, shutting out every opponent on their path to the trophy. Their triumph also secures qualification for January’s SVNS Division Three Challenger Series.

South Africa advanced to the final after a clinical and composed semi-final performance, defeating Madagascar 25–0. The Women Boks controlled the match from the opening whistle, applying relentless defensive pressure and converting opportunities with precision. The result marked yet another clean sheet in a weekend defined by discipline, accuracy and a unified team mindset.

The final against Kenya delivered the expected intensity, with the hosts looking to challenge South Africa’s momentum. But the Springbok Women’s Sevens once again showcased their composure under pressure, executing key moments with clarity and maintaining the defensive standard that had defined their campaign. When the final whistle sounded, the scoreboard once again reflected South Africa’s dominance and defensive steel - another match won without conceding a point.

Captain Nadine Roos stepped forward to collect the trophy on behalf of a team that has delivered one of the most complete continental campaigns in recent memory.

Reflecting on the victory, Roos said:"Winning this tournament is a testament to our collective effort and the commitment every player brought onto the field. Keeping a clean sheet across the entire tournament speaks to our discipline and trust in one another. It’s an honour to lead this group, and this win gives us the perfect platform heading into the SVNS Division Three Challenger in January."

The Springbok Women’s Sevens’ performance in Nairobi was defined not only by their attacking threats - with standout contributions from Maria Tshiremba, Simamkele Namba, Zintle Mpupha, Patience Mokone, and Roos herself - but also by a defensive system that allowed no team to breach their line. Their ability to balance structure with instinct, and intensity with composure, reaffirmed their position as the continent’s premier women’s sevens side.

With continental honours secured and an unbeaten, point-perfect record behind them, South Africa now turn their attention to the SVNS Division Three Challenger in January, where they will compete for a place on the global circuit.
