The winner of the over R19 million Powerball jackpot had a 'hunch' it was going to be his lucky, when he played Powerball on February 7, 2025.
"I usually only play when the jackpots are very high, however, last week Friday, I had a feeling that it was my lucky day and I knew R19 million could change my life," the winner told National Lottery Ithuba.
The winner, who is the nine multi-millionaire winner across all National Lottery games since the beginning of the year, claimed his winnings on February 11, 2025.
He played via a banking app and spent R15 on his winning ticket. He opted for a Quick-Pick.
The winner said he was in disbelief when he found out he won but when he arrived at Ithuba's offices, he felt thrilled.
One of the first things the winner plans to do is to transform his house into his dream home".
"The winner is eager to start his own business, securing a financially free future for himself and his family."
An avid outdoors enthusiast, he's looking forward to exploring his passions for hiking, camping, and swimming.
He also plans to travel.
In congratulating the winner Ithuba CEO Charmaine Mabuza said: "We are excited that this winner trusted his instincts and purchased a PowerBall ticket. This serves as a reminder that any day and any draw can be a lucky one - after all, you have to be in it to win it."
