THREE suspects are expected to appear in the Prieska Magistrate’s Court soon after they were caught with a bakkie loaded with suspected stolen sheep valued at R20,000.

Northern Cape police spokesperson Captain Olebogeng Tawana said the suspects were arrested by members of the Prieska Visible Policing unit.

“Members of the police acted swiftly upon receiving a tip-off about a stock theft incident on the R357 road. The team caught the suspects red-handed with a white Ford Bantam bakkie loaded with suspected stolen sheep. The suspects immediately directed the police to where they stole the sheep,” said Tawana.

“A total of six sheep were found in possession of the suspects. The suspects were apprehended and charged with stock theft. The bakkie was also confiscated as it was instrumental in the commission of a crime.”
