I AM SURE that most pupils and yes, teachers as well, are eager to wrap up the academic year, with the 2022 school year coming to a conclusion and examinations starting or already under way this week.

But first, Roodepan Primary School highlighted some of the outstanding work that some of its pupils had accomplished.

The school awarded its top achievers and a number of pupils could be seen clutching trophies. I could see the satisfaction on their faces as a year’s worth of effort finally paid off.

Why not brag just before the school year closes and the holiday season begins? It is not every day that a pupil can boast with a huge trophy.

Seen from back left are Roodepan Primary School’s top sports achievers: Lereese Johnson (Grade 7, Athletics), Jaydene Beyers (Grade 6, Sportswoman of the Year), Zeetah Isaacs (Grade 7, Netball Under 13), Fabritcio April (Grade 6, Sportsman of the Year), William Lubbe (Grade 6, Athletics) and Calvodia Weilbach (Grade 6, Netball Under-12); and (front, from left) Jamie Beyers (Grade 6, Best Rugby Player) and Breyton Poemedie (Grade 7, Under-13 Soccer ) Absent: Hanton Besend and Lourence Lynch.
