THE ORANGE River is screaming with sound as it rushes over the 56-metre-high waterfall at an incredible 3,532 cumec, as measured on Monday, in the area that the Khoi people appropriately named “Akoerebis”, or “place of tremendous noise”.
The Department of Water and Sanitation said that further water will be released and that this week will see a peak of slightly over 4,500 cubic metres per second and, depending on further rains in the country, it may increase further.
With these high water levels, the Augrabies Falls National Park will undoubtedly be roaring with sound and a sight to behold for the whole holiday season.
