THE POLICE said that a man who was found lying in the street in front of Rietvale High School in Ritchie on Tuesday had died of natural causes.

It is believed that the man was on his way to work when he collapsed at around 7am.

A family member indicated that he had complained of having a headache when he woke up.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Sergio Kock said several community members, including a resident nurse from the nearby clinic, tried to provide medical assistance to the 51-year-old man.

“The man was apparently still breathing at the time. He, however, died on the scene before the paramedics arrived. The deceased is believed to have suffered from hypertension. No foul play is suspected,” said Kock.
