LERATO’S Foundation, a local non-profit organisation (NPO), will hold a clothing drive in the first week of March to collect clothes for the homeless and those in need.
The chairperson of the NPO, Kabelo Makofane, said the organisation provides warm meals through a mobile food kitchen operating in and around Kimberley.
“We encourage residents to donate items from their wardrobes, including clothes and shoes, to help those in need in the community,” he said.
Makofane added that they would visit schools to request pupils to donate at least two items of old clothing.
“We will arrange a school for members of the public to drop off their old clothes and will also be able to collect.”
He said the donated clothes would be distributed to impoverished communities around Kimberley during the first week of April.
“We will set up stalls where people can select their own items,” Makofane said.
