A 46-year-old clerk of the court employed at the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court was arrested by the Northern Cape Provincial Anti-Corruption Unit on charges of corruption.
A 46-YEAR-old clerk employed at the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court was arrested by the Northern Cape Provincial Anti-Corruption Unit (ACIU) on March 15 on charges of corruption.
SAPS spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Sergio Kock said the clerk assisted an applicant to obtain a protection order as well as an interim protection order that was granted by the magistrate.
“The clerk allegedly demanded R500 from the applicant and was later arrested by the provincial ACIU,” said Kock.
He added that she appeared in the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court and was released on R500 bail.
“The investigation continues,” said Kock.
