THE KAKAMAS SAPS Family Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual Offences unit is searching for a suspect in connection with a rape that occurred near Voortrekker Street in Kakamas.
SAPS spokesperson for the ZF Mgcawu district, Sergeant Omphile Masegela, said on Friday that the suspect allegedly attacked a woman and her boyfriend on January 26.
“He later returned on the same date and raped the woman,” Masegela stated.
He added that an identikit of the suspect has been compiled. He is described as a coloured male, estimated to be in his late 20s to early 30s, and speaks Setswana and Afrikaans.
“The police are requesting the assistance of the public and any person who may have information that will lead to the apprehension and arrest of the suspect to contact the investigating officer, Constable Lesego Mokati, on 079 697 7836,” Masegela said.
“All information received will be treated with the strictest confidentiality.”
