THE NORTHERN Cape Provincial Organised Crime Detectives are investigating a case of murder after an elderly man was shot in his home in Douglas on Tuesday.
It is believed that the man was fatally wounded during a robbery in the early hours of the morning.
He was with his partner when the incident occurred.
Northern Cape police spokesperson Captain Olebogeng Tawana said it is alleged that the intruder entered the home where he shot and fatally wounded the man.
“The incident happened in the early hours of Tuesday, November 22, 2022. The suspect fled the scene with some of the victim’s items, including jewellery,” said Tawana.
He added that no one has been arrested yet.
