THE GALESHEWE SAPS Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences unit is investigating the rape of a 23-year-old woman in an open piece of veld near John Daka, Galeshewe.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Timothy Sam said the incident took place on September 8.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim was walking to her boyfriend’s home when she was politely approached by an unknown male who offered to accompany her. While walking through the open veld the suspect requested to have sex with the victim as a reward for his good deed, to which she refused. The suspect grabbed and pulled the victim down and raped her,” said Sam.
He added that the suspect was wearing blue overalls pants, is short, light in complexion, of slender build, has dreads and speaks Setswana.
The police have requested the public to assist with any information that may lead to the apprehension and arrest of the suspect and with the investigation of the case.
