THE ANC Youth League (ANCYL) has urged for 20 percent representation of youths in the new provincial leadership.
Voting started on Tuesday to elect the new provincial executive committee (PEC) during the 10th ANC provincial conference.
The event was attended by ANC treasurer General Gwen Ramakgopa and former ANC provincial chairpersons - Manne Dipico, Dipuo Peters and John Block.

ANCYL provincial chairperson Venus Blennies-Magage indicated that youths were sidelined for too long.
“ANC-led structures must include youths and young graduates. This is not for tokenship but for capacity and continuity.”
Blennies-Magage added that Sol Plaatje University should expand its curriculum to include studies of mining, renewable energy and ICT.
“The poor state of the Kuruman TVET college impacts on the safety of students.”
She advised the ANC to win back the hearts and homes of the electorate.
“Local municipalities are besieged by service delivery failures, including ageing water infrastructure.”
The ANC Women's League also called for the new leadership to advance the economic empowerment of women.
The ANC Veterans League believed that agricultural land should be made available to feed the hungry and alleviate poverty.
