Motorists in the Northern Cape are being urged to exercise caution due to severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall, with the SAPS issuing safety guidelines to reduce the risk of accidents.

MOTORISTS in the Northern Cape are being urged to exercise caution due to severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in the region.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) has issued safety guidelines for drivers, including reducing speed, using headlights, and avoiding standing water.

According to the weather report, Kimberley is experiencing periods of rain with a high of 21°C and a low of 16°C. Winds are blowing at 10 to 20 mph from the north, with a 100% chance of rain and possible rainfall of up to 2.5cm. Locally heavier rainfall is also possible.
