RICHMOND police have arrested a 35-year-old man linked to the theft of a motor vehicle from a Cape Town car wash on Sunday.
The suspect was tracked down at a mechanic’s shop in Richmond, Northern Cape, on Monday after police received information about an abandoned vehicle on the N1 near Three Sisters.
The vehicle was recovered and seized by the police. The suspect was charged with possession of a suspected stolen vehicle and is expected to appear in the Richmond Magistrate’s Court soon.
The district commissioner of Pixley ka Seme, Major-General Nomana Mtukushe, welcomed the swift action and commended all role-players involved in the recovery of the vehicle and the arrest of the suspect.
The Northern Cape police are urging anyone with information about similar crimes to come forward.
