AN OFF-duty police officer's sharp instincts led to the recovery of a suspected stolen compressor at a local mechanic in Galeshewe on Saturday.

The officer, who was at the mechanic with his vehicle, noticed four suspects trying to sell the compressor to the mechanic. He cleverly pretended to be interested in buying the item, allowing him to seize it while the suspects fled.

A case of possession of suspected stolen property has been opened, and police are appealing for information to identify and arrest the suspects.
