The Sol Plaatje Municipality has confirmed that water supply has been restored to a portion of Kimberley Suburbia and parts of Galeshewe.

In a public notice issued at 17:00 on Saturday, 14 February 2026, the municipality said the contractor appointed for the Budget Facility for Infrastructure water improvement programme completed the connection of a newly installed pipe in the Rhodesdene area to the existing water network ahead of schedule.

Line filling is currently in progress, with water gradually filtering through to affected areas. Residents in Soul City, Club 2000, Madiba Park, Tlhageng, and the Tswelelopele Correctional Centre are advised that supply is being restored.

In Kimberley Suburbia, water has been restored to Rhodes Avenue and the entire Verwoerdpark area.

The municipality thanked residents for their patience and cooperation during the repair and refurbishment of the bulk water supply infrastructure.

Thabo Mothibi from the Communications Unit said the municipality appreciates the community’s understanding as work continues to stabilise the system.
